Rebuilding Together needs volunteers
this Saturday, April 26th. The mission of this organization
is to preserve and revitalize homes and communities.
Rebuilding Together identifies elderly and disabled
homeowners and helps them refurbish their homes. This
year the organization is refurbishing 15 homes in Coconut
Grove. If you and/or students would like to volunteer,
please contact Mr. James McCants @ 786 290-2214. Breakfast
and lunch will be provided for all volunteers.

The Magnet
Dance program has been invited to perform
at the 4th
Annual NBC6/Telemundo 51 Health & Fitness Expo on
Saturday, April 26 at the Miami Beach Convention
Center. The dancers are scheduled to perform
at 2:00pm on the stage. This FREE-TO-THE-PUBLIC
event
is designed to capture the attention of tens
of thousands of health-conscious consumers
and offers
free health tests and screenings, information,
demonstrations, and much more! We will have
the Cobra mascot at the event and we will
love to have
the Cobra family there supporting our dancers.

Report cards will go home the week of April 21
and progress reports will go home the week of April
28th. Graduation is June 6th at 10:00 AM at FIU.

The Boys
Baseball team has made it to the GMAC Championship
Game on Thursday 4/17 at 6:30 p.m., vs Columbus
at Miami Southridge High School. Come support your
Cobras.

Dance Program for participating the National
High School Dance Festival in Philadelphia. Click

Congratulations to Indiria Espinosa, Francicso
Quiroz, Nelson Lorenzo and Beija Mosqueda who participated
in the World and American History and World languages
expos at the Dade County Fair and won special awards
for their entries. The students participated through
Ms. Mendoza's French level 1 classes. The awards
ceremony will be on April 5th at 4:00 in Walter B.
Arnold Jr. Youth Hall.

Attention all seniors; the South Miami Senior High
Scholarship is now available. Applications can be
found in the CAP
office. Students who have been active in SMSH
and have a strong academic history are eligible.

Student Services is hosting their 2nd Annual College
Fair/College Day on April 8, 2008 from 12:30-2:15
pm. Teachers will be asked to sign up beginning March
24th. This opportunity is open to teachers of 9th,10th,and
11th graders.

M.I.T. Will
be visiting South Miami Senior on March 27, 2008
at 1:00pm and St.
Thomas University will be here on April 11, 2008
at 12:30 pm. St. Thomas is only available for 11th
and 12th graders. Any student interested should see
Mrs. Manchola to sign up.
