The growing international network and the pluralistic nature of a global society demand that we develop citizens with a sound understanding of international and cross-cultural issues and with the ability to communicate in more than one language. Additionally, the ability to communicate in more than one language contributes to an enriched, responsible, and meaningful life. This enhances employment opportunities across a broad range of career and reinforces every other area of endeavor, both in school and beyond.
The world language program has responded to this global imperative by providing instruction in a variety of languages including Spanish, Spanish for Spanish Speakers, and French. Additionally, the program is responsive to the language needs of the whole student population as it strengthens the development of the basic skills of communication and provides powerful experience in the continuing development of reasoning ability.
