Tips for Managing Your Time

from Ms. Bergouignan, Counselor

Remember, to succeed you need to be able to balance your life.  Each part of your life needs attention.  Remember also that if you ‘see’ your subjects everyday, like the concept used with commercials/ads on TV, you will be more likely to remember the information and increase your performance in each course (as you will see reflected in your grades).

Scheduling your time after school:

  1. Write down when you want your snack break, bathroom break, call-your-friend break, dinner time, “basketball” playing time, etc.

  1. Write down any household chores or childcare activities that you need to perform, include here any outside jobs that you hold and the hours you work.

  1. List your subjects in order of difficulty and how much time you need to have for homework in each class daily.

  1. Write down the time that you usually have dinner, shower, and go to sleep.

  1. Use the following chart as an example to help you make your own schedule.
