• During the spring break recess, the Cobra Thespians participated in the state competition in Tampa. P.J. Gonzalez, Christine Baez, and Marquies Wilson all received first places(superiors) and Rhyssa Beckford received a second place(excellent). Congratulations to all!




  • Congratulations to Mr. Pedraza-Cruz and his Robotics class for winning the state championship (Marisol Leon, Christian Echevarria, Manuel Carvallo, Richard Morales, Yomar Toledo, Ruben Labrada, Gerardo Parra, Rafael Gutierrez, Claudia Reyes). In Mr. Pedraza's words, "This was a very challenging competition requiring the students to work together as a team while coming up with creative and innovative solutions. They will be one of ten teams attending the national competition finals in Washington DC on May 26. They worked very hard during class, after school and on Saturdays."

  • FDOE conducts an annual parent survey designed to provide USDOE, Office of Special Education Programs, with information on how well Florida's schools are supporting the involvement of parents of students with disabilities in their child's education. The survey will be available online to all parents of children with disabilities receiving exceptional student education (ESE) services from Pre-K through grade 12 at www.esesurvey.com from February 1, 2012 - June 30, 2012. The survey is available in English and Spanish. Paper surveys will be made available to parents who are unable to access a computer. Parents requesting a paper survey should be referred to Ms. Keisha C. Robinson at 305-754-4081.


  • The Department of Food and Nutrition supports the schools and students during FCAT by providing the following:
    • Breakfast is available every day to all M-DCPS students at no charge.
    • Eating breakfast in the school cafeteria ensures students will be on time for the FCAT test.
    • The school cafeteria offers a nutritious and balanced breakfast, including a choice of eggs, cereal, toast, fresh fruit or juice, milk and other items.
