Cobra News Headlines for December
2009
-
- It's that time of year again! The
Media Center is hosting a Scholastic Book Fair from
December 5th-December 12th in the back area of the library.
Books for all ages will be on sale. The
Media Center will earn a portion of the proceeds. Last
year we earned about $2300, and took most of our earnings
in the form of books from the fair. Titles on sale now
include Twilight and other titles by Stephanie Meyer.
- The Ford
Partnership for Advanced Studies is an organization
that provides students with content knowledge and skills
necessary for future success—in such areas as business,
economics, engineering, and technology. They have offered
our school an afterschool program that will target ninth
grade students. Through the after-school program students
would work in small groups to problem solve current issues
and acquire necessary research skills that they can utilize
in their classes. In addition, this organization will
provide the students with afternoon snacks and all-paid
educational field trips. If any freshmen is interested,
he or she would be required to stay afterschool twice
a month on Wednesdays from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm. Transportation
is not provided, so please make sure to make arrangements
to be picked up from school at 4:00 pm. For more information
