Cobra News Headlines for Feburary 2009
  • South Miami Senior High School is proud to announce that we have partnered with the National Collegiate Scouting Association (NCSA) to present “College Recruiting Simplified” presentation on Thursday February 26, 2009 at 7:00 pm in the Auditorium.

South Miami Senior High School is one of over 500 “College Recruiting Simplified” locations for the 2008-2009 school year. NCSA Educational Speakers guide parents and student-athletes through the importance of establishing athletic and academic goals, setting realistic expectations and seeking opportunities at all college levels. Attendees learn valuable tips on finding the best college based on their student-athletes’ academic and athletic abilities. Most importantly, “College Recruiting Simplified” reiterates that the most valuable goal anyone should strive for is a college education.

    Topics covered include:
    • The benefits of playing collegiate sports
    • Understanding whether your student-athlete is really being recruited
    • Strategies on how to maximize an athlete’s recruiting potential
    • Is Division I the only option?
    • Timelines for college recruiting
    • The importance of character and keeping good grades
    • The 5 things every potential college recruit must do to get recruited
