The Science Department at South Miami Senior High is committed to establishing opportunities for each student to understand what is known about the universe and how it came into being. Furthermore, the scientific literacy of students remains the department’s primary goal so that students can become both effective and successful citizen in societies of the future. In order to provide opportunities, numerous methods and techniques are employed. The department further recognizes the necessity of exposing students to scientific methodology as this remains the key feature to the acquisition of knowledge both today and in the future.
