AP Chemistry

Future AP Chemistry Student

Included in this packet are a few things that I thought would be helpful in preparing you for your AP Chemistry experience next year. While I do not wish to overwhelm you with a summer overload, I thought that you could get a head start and cover some basic material in a way that you might find interesting…..

  1. You will find access to summer course materials on line at…….

                        http://wps.prenhall.com/esm_brown_chemistry_9/1,4647,169060,.html

Using this web site, please review chapters 1 and 2, and complete quizzes found in the “problem solving center”. Submit your completed assignments online to my school email address ( gjopling@dadeschools.net ) according to each assignment deadline listed below.

You may make as many attempts as you want on each assignment, prior to submission, but you may only submit once for each assignment. In the case of duplicate submissions, only the first submission will be counted

Be sure to include the major experimental evidence that supports the atomic theory in general as well as evidence for the existence of each fundamental subatomic particle, the people who were the major contributors, as well as reference to ongoing political and social points of reference. DO NOT JUST COPY TEXT MATERIALS. BE CREATIVE, ENTERTAINING, AND IMMAGINATIVE!

This will be your project assignment for the first 9 weeks.

The completed power point project will be due by September 5. 2008

  1. Review and refresh your memory of common ions. Use the attached list of AP Common Ions.

If you experience difficulty getting to the summer material, or if you have specific questions related to these assignments, please email me at my school email address.
