EESAC Minutes from Mar. 19, 2008

Present: Administrators, Gilberto Bonce, Stephanie Tudor, Claudia Garcia, David Loughlin, Pierre Edouard; Teachers, Anthony Balboa, John Branstetter, Marilyn Riggins; Parent, Ms. Dania; UTD Rep., M. Ciriano; Students, Erika Rodriguez, Jeanette Perez-Hernandez; Guests, Mrs. Cabanez, Mr. McCrimmon, Mrs. Ruiz.

• The meeting started at 2:55 in the Media Center.
• Minutes from the previous meeting were approved.
• The SACS QAR Team report was passed out.
• The school Uniform Vote Overview was presented by Mr. Loughlin. A committee was established. The vote will take place between April 21 and April 25, 2008. The School Board rule states that the vote must be at least 50% plus one in order to establish a mandatory uniform policy at the school. The committee is charged with developing the new SMSH uniform.
• Ms. Tudor thanked everyone for a great FCAT testing situation. Currently 98% of our 9th and 10th graders have tested. To date, 97% of the 11th graders have tested.
• Mr. Bonce spoke about the budget cuts for the school. A budget cut of $100,000 - 130,000 is anticipated for SMSH this year. Next years cuts are anticipated at 10-20% of the annual budget.
