EESAC Minutes from November 14, 2007
Present: Administrators, Gilberto Bonce, Stephanie Tudor, Pierre Edouard,
Claudia Garcia, David Loughlin; Teachers, John Branstetter, Christine Cuesta,
Marilyn Riggins, Ileana Rodriguez; UTD Rep., M. Ciriano; Parent, Lidia Dania;

- The meeting took place in the Media Center and began at 2:55 PM. The minutes
from the previous meeting, Oct. 17, 2007, were approved after a few name
corrections.
- Ms. Tudor began the new business by announcing that the SACS
Review Committee
would be visiting the school on March 3rd and 4th, 2008. The new SACS process
is looking to evaluate how we assess ourselves as a school and our vision
for the future. Teachers, be ready.
- Mr. Branstetter then spoke about the
District
and Community Input Survey. The EESAC members got in groups and discussed
the survey questions regarding M-DCPS improvement.
- Next, the mini grant proposals
were revisited. Ms. Lemo and Ms. Foto were approved for Scholastic magazine
subscriptions. Mr. Diaz (band) was approved $500 for a band competition.
Mr.
Bonce declared he would use the photo money (not EESAC) to pay for new
Mac keyboards and mice for Ms. Orta’s yearbook room.
- After reviewing
proposals Mr. Bonce returned the $23,000 that was previously approved for
Saturday School.
The committee then agreed to direct the funds to the Media Center to
update their collection.
- Lastly, Mr. Edouard spoke in regards to the Attendance
Committee. Students who exceed the max. number of absences will be making
it up in Saturday
School with Mr. Doscher.
- The meeting adjourned at 3:55 PM.
