EESAC Minutes from October 17, 2007

Present: Gilberto Bonce, Stephanie Tudor, Pierre Edouard, Claudia Garcia, David Loughlin, Ileana Rodriguez, Administrators; John Branstetter, Anthony Balboa, Christine Cuesta, Marilyn Riggins, Teachers; Alex Cruz, Erika Rodriguez, Sebastian Church, Students; Christina Alvarez, George Burstein, M. Ciriano, Elena Ruiz, Susan McAllister, Guests.

• The meeting took place in the Media Center and began at 2:45 PM. The minutes from the Sept. 19th, 2007 meeting were approved.
• Mr. Branstetter introduced the mini grant proposals that were submitted on time.
• The following proposals were offered alternative funding by Mr. Bonce: white boards for Ms. Cuesta, LCD projectors for Mrs. Tompkins and Mrs. Pantoja, probe connectors for Mr. Doscher, and accommodations and entry for Mrs. Ruiz and Mrs. McAllister to attend the National Council Teachers of English Convention. EESAC approved the alternative funding suggestion.
• The following mini grants were approved by committee vote:
  • $342 to Ms. Cuesta for 35 subscriptions of the New York Times: Upfront Magazine*
  • $500 to Ms. Cole to purchase supplemental science related reading material.
• The committee decided to reconvene in November and to extend the mini grant deadline until then. No new business was discussed.
• The meeting adjourned at 3:20.

*Ms. Cuesta did not vote for this proposal.
