The Florida Reading Association (FRA) sponsors an annual reading poster contest open to all secondary school students in the State. They accept only 1 winning poster from each school (obviously not all schools participate). We had approximately 75 participants in this year's school contest. Our school's winner, Jennifer Dominquez (9th grade), also won 1st place for the entire state! Her poster, entitled "Dive into a Good Book" will be on the cover of the FRA calendar and will be this year's official bookmark illustration. Her prize consisted of a large basket of books, including: novels, graphic stories, poetry, DVD sets, and more. Our school also won a fabulous "bucket of books" to use in her reading classroom.
