Welcome to the South Miami Senior High Language Arts Department Homepage.

The Language Arts department acknowledges the uniqueness of each student by individually promoting each student's intellectual, emotional, and aesthetic development. In pursuit of this goal, the department:

provides opportunities for students to meet the demands of post-secondary education
exposes them to multicultural values through the reading and discussion of literature
make them aware through research activities of a variety of opportunities for becoming constructive members of society
encourages them to become well-rounded individuals who will contribute to the communities of the future by practicing the lifelong value of learning.
