·        Welcome New Members!

o       Make sure you have turned in fundraising form

 

·        Fundraising

o       We need students to help sell muffins in the Media Center on Mondays and Thursdays before school beginning at 7:15am and during both lunches.

o       We will use the money we make to pay for field trips, books for the book drive, etc.

 

·        Book Swap—November 7  & 10th

o       October: we invite students to bring books in good condition they’d like to trade. 

§         Committee to make signs and publicize

 

·        FYI: Miami Book Fair: November 14-16

o       Miami Dade College, Wolfson Campus

 

·        Book Drive—December 17, 2008

o       Date is still tentative—have to finalize with school

o       We will purchase and deliver new books to elementary classes

 

·        Reminder:  Twilight (movie) comes out November 21^st!!

 

·        Public Library Announcements:

o       Teen Read Week Contest—Win an iPod

o       Teen Read Week Word-A-Thon—Get Community Service

 

·        T-Shirt

o       The shirts have several colors in the design, and will cost $16.50.

o       We would like everyone to have a shirt for our events and club photo.

o       Write your t-shirt size next to your name on the sign in sheet  and bring the money (cash)to next Friday’s meeting.

o       This will take the place of dues.

 

·        Book Consideration List

o       Choose your top three choices.

o       Turn in your votes by Tuesday, September 23^rd.

o       We will announce the winners next Friday at our meeting!

·        Next Meeting: Friday, September 26th
