Clubs are encouraged to start planning
for the end of the year activities: induction ceremonies for Honor Societies,
holding elections for next year's officers, end of the year dinner/banquet/get
together celebrations, ordering
awards etc.
Community Service - Sponsors may give
students community service hours for club/class related activities and
projects that take place outside of the regular school hours. The hours
need to be documented and may be turned in to Ms.
Lester.
Many schools are currently being audited. We
are expecting our audit sometime soon. Club/class accounts will be audited.
Graduation regalia - Honor societies will be
given the opportunity to purchase cords to recognize their members. Each
honor society will have a different single color or a combination of colors.
The cords will be ordered through Herff Jones. Ms.
Rodriguez will send
the information to the sponsors of the Honor Societies within the next
week. The National Honor Society will continue their traditions.
The Silver Knight Nominees will also be recognized with a cord. Cords for
300 hours or more of community service is a possibility, but it has not been
confirmed. The summa cum laude will be recognized with a gold hood, the magna
cum laude with a silver hood, and the cum laude with a bronze hood. Teachers
and students who have given us imput, agree that it is important to recognize
the achievement of individual students at graduation.
