- Mr. Humberto Ferre (hferre@dadeschools.net),
our webmaster, explained to the students how to submit information, pictures,
power-point
presentations
etc. to post on the school website.
Any club/class that wishes to submit something may do so, but it must be approved
by the sponsor and Ms. Rodriguez in Activities. Please help us showcase all the
wonderful things that clubs/classes are doing and recognize the students who
dedicate time and service to SMSH. The website
can provide valuable information to students and their families.
- Sebastian Church, president of ICC
and SGA Vice President, informed the students about the SMSH Community
Service Beautification Project that is being planned
for Feb. 9th and Feb. 16th. All clubs are invited to participate! From
8:00 AM - 12:00 PM we will be cleaning, painting, decorating areas of our
school. Students will receive
community service
hours (double time). Email Ms.
Rodriguez to volunteer your club/class.
Please include the number of members that will be participating and whether,
or not the sponsor plans to attend.
- Club Data - Some clubs have not submitted the
Club Data Form to Ms. Rodriguez. Club Sponsors will get notified only if
they have not turned it in. Those club sponsors are kindly asked to submit
it by Feb. 8th.
Minutes
An important reminder to all clubs/classes: The Operating Report (form #0996)
is due within 10 school days of the completion of a fundraiser (the last day
of the fundraiser/activity). If a club has an overdue report, other fundraisers
will not be approved until the report is completed.
Please remind students who are in performing groups/competitive academic teams
of the Extracurricular Paticipation Contract. If a student has 10 absences (or
more) and/or 20 tardies (or more) to school, they will not be eligible to perform/compete.
An appeal has to be filed to request an eligibility ruling and submitted downtown
to the committee that reviews the appeals.
